Had the Carne Campesina, which in the pictures may look a little more like a flank but it’s definitely not steak it’s beef stew which is fine but it was... read more very tough and dry. It was also very salty which led me to believe between the toughness and saltiness that the food wasn’t made fresh. Layout or experience also wasn’t anything special so I probably wouldn’t return.

Don Jacinto’s was a few minutes walk from my AIRBNB villa and came highly recommended by the owner. The irony was that I’d almost travelled to Colombia instead of Aruba... read more but found a much cheaper flight to Aruba. I already love Colombian food, but let me tell you...the empanadas were the best I’ve ever had!!! And their spicy sauce was magnificent!! Everything was very reasonably priced...will definitely go back every time I’m in Aruba!

If you are not Colombian looking then visit Don Jacinto to get discriminated. First time entered this restaurant, nothing is asked besides “how many people”, while I had a online... read more reservation. We all sat on super uncomfortable chairs, 2 uneven tables were pushed to accomodate us plus we wait half hour and still no sign of a waiter I saw 2 groups entering some time after us and within 5 min the waiters were attending them, bringing water. We left and nobody was interested in the reason leaving, so they dont even are willing to improve! I was with kids, and any other restaurant in Aruba you get attended and welcomed at least with water which is for free!

My wife and I wanted authentic Colombian food. I had the Bandeja Paisa which includes rice, beans, chorizo, pork rinds, Colombian-style ground beef, a fried egg, avocado, plantain slices and... read more arepa. It was delicious. The wife had Grouper a la plancha which was also yummy. The waitstaff was good and the price can't be beaten. For the meals, drinks and a tip, I paid 77.50 Aruban Florins.

No one we talked to cabbies, hotel personnel, other guests had been to this restaurant; made us a bit nervous. One comment was “that’s Colombian, isn’t it?” Yes... read more indeed it IS Colombian and well worth a visit. Not visited by many “tourists” by the looks we got when we arrived. Or maybe it was because we were a pair of octogenarians! Anyway, the reception was great, the tables and chairs a bit hard, but the warmth of the server, the quality of the drinks and food made up for the lack of sophisticated environment. It was truly authentic. My seafood ceviche was lovely and the red snapper (head on) was fantastic. The margaritas to start were fresh, tart and strong. The wine was a Pinot Gris and it was crisp, flowery and cold.
No, it was not on the water. No, it did not exude a great deal of wealthy encountrements, but the food, drinks and staff were incredible good. A great find.
